Mathematterfly Genesis

This Thing-A-Day project combined technologies in creating a hand tinted watercolor illustration of a faux species known as the Mathematterfly. It is an exercise in creating a programmed image to combine digital and traditional materials in an art project.

Preserving Formatted Source Code in HTML

Posting documents on the Internet pertaining to writing source code is problematic when using common HTML formatting. It is to burdensome to try keeping a web version with line numbering of the source code in synch with working source code. A solution to this problem is using the NetBeans or Code:Blocks IDE editors with their features that preserve formatting in an HTML document.

My First Attempt with Watercolor

Sometimes we place barriers in front of ourselves that stop us from exploring new endeavors. Taking the time to learn to create watercolor artwork has been one of my barriers.

Silicone Mold for Tripod, Part 1.

I am making a two part silicone mold to replace a lost part for a tripod. This day I’ll work on building the first part of a two part mold.

Thing-A-Day Feb. 7

Sculpey clay allows me to create a replacement part for my tripod that can be used in a pinch. But to create a more durable part I can use a cured clay part as a pattern in making a mold.
